| 469783 | 2006-07-10 01:37:00 | Help!!! I have just put a new pc together . Has the following: Asus A8R - MVP motherboard 1Gb ram 939 processor 160Gb SATA2 drive 250Gb SATA2 drive I have 2 problems: 1 . The CPU fan cuts out soon after startup and when I switch off starts up again until pc is completely powered down . 2 . The power on switch simply will not power on the pc . The LED light on the motherboard says there is power on but the computer will not get started . If I wait a while it will then start up if I try again . :confused: I am at the limit of my knowledge here and can't find anything I understand in the manual . Any help greatly appreciated . I have loaded windows and some programs on and that seems to work fine . |

Overheating through bad fan managment, check bios settings for cpu temp b. wrongly connected power on swich, could also be a bios setting prob. We need a little more info to be more specific. Cheers and good luck. A) Fan control is via the computer software, unless the cpu is hot, the fan powers down. Does the fab spin up after heavy use, ie: games? B) Yes, you must have the wrong mobo cable connected to the case switch. |

It was working okay last night okay, when I loaded the o/s and programs until I powered down then when I switched on this morning the fan stopped just after it started. | 469787 | 2006-07-10 04:31:00 | I had great fun with my Asus board and the connectors for a Coolermaster case power/reset switches. The plugs are very small connecting to the m/b and even the colour coding on the plugs didn't seem to work... tried everything back-to front and no problem! |
