| 470087 | 2006-07-11 10:25:00 | I need some help, I have an adsl connection and when I have been online for a while, can be anywhere from 5 mins to 5 hours, my internet connection locks solid. I can't bring on websites up or check email , when I unplug my modem the two little green arrows in the task bar stay green as if the modem was still plugged in, I need to completely reboot the system to fix it. Sometimes when I reboot my comp freezes 2/3rds through the shut down. I have a usb adsl modem(homedsl supplied be telstra) winxp sp2 and hijack this log below Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1 Scan saved at 9:22:27 p.m., on 11/07/2006 Platform: Windows XP SP2 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v6.00 SP2 (6.00.2900.2180) Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\TGTSoft\StyleXP\StyleXPService.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgamsvr.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgupsvc.exe C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgemc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\slserv.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ZoneLabs\vsmon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\SearchIndexer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\Grisoft\AVGFRE~1\avgcc.exe C:\Program Files\Dynalink\Adsl\dslstat.exe C:\Program Files\Dynalink\Adsl\dslagent.exe C:\Program Files\Zone Labs\ZoneAlarm\zlclient.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\msiexec.exe C:\Documents and Settings\Mike\Desktop\HijackThis.exe R1 - But yup as Tweake has said this looks like its part of Vista, which you havent got. search indexer is part of office 07 which I had on for a week or two, this is a system hog!!!I have taken office off but the indexer still seems to show up, I will remove it from the startup. Office was not the cause of my issue |

| 470093 | 2006-07-12 05:43:00 | Just wondering, exactly what did you mean by "internet connection locks solid"? Have you checked through your ZoneAlarm settings to ensure that you haven't accidentally activated the Internet Lock or stop all internet connections whenever your Internet hangs? Cheers :) |

Have you checked through your ZoneAlarm settings to ensure that you haven't accidentally activated the Internet Lock or stop all internet connections whenever your Internet hangs? Cheers :) it freezes . I get "page not available"error, email wont check etc, if I click on the icon to disconnect it "hangs" and the two screens in the task bar stay put, if I unplug the USB modem it still shows as being connected . The only way to get it to reset is to reboot the comp usually I then get a task not responding window pop up reffering to the task manager . So therfore something is effecting my task manager and screwing with it, any ideas? |
