471186 2006-07-15 12:14:00 Since I've been playing around setting up a development server on my linux computer and running it from my winXP machine, I've tried out some ftp clients.
I've found Filezilla works very well but limited for what I want to do.
sftp Drive is very, very good, but costs at the end of its 6 week evaluation period.
Win scp, works well and is open source.
I couldn't get smartftp to work also ESftp wouldn't work for me (I actually am finding Eclipse a bit difficultb to get to grips with).
PuTTY of course works well, but doesn't quite fit the bill.
Has anyone got their own particular ftp client that they consider does the job?

471187 2006-07-15 12:26:00 I use sftp, ftp and scp but not on Windows. I hear there is a Windows port of wget. Have you had a look at this? vinref (6194)

Cheers :)

471192 2006-07-15 21:54:00 I am the same as James, FileZilla is the best (I find) easy layout and configuration  The_End_Of_Reality (334)

I don't really know; I entered the same settings I've used for the others, but for some reason it didn't work
But it doesn't matter, because I'm spoilt for choice with what's available.

I've found FileZilla good as well.
But what I've found with WinSCP is that it will do what FileZilla does, with an easy layout and possibly an even simpler configuration with some added functionality (which is what I was looking for).
Sftp Drive would have definitely been the best, but I didn't feel inclined to spend money on something that is purely a hobby and anyway, who knows, I could get a rush of enthusiasm for something else, so it would be money wasted.
