470836 2006-07-14 12:03:00 the prob is when i play games like rome total war and the sims 2 the games sometimes freezes and i have to reset the monitor before i can do anything....sometimes the monitor just goes blank during the game saying it is not receiving any signals and then i have to reset the computer.
ive lowered the graphics settings but it still happens.....i got the latest driver.........

i have a Gecube Ati radeon 9600Pro 256MB (AGP)
running win2000pro
Athlon 64 3200+

470837 2006-07-14 12:59:00 Hello there. Have you tried plugging in another monitor to determine where the fault lies? Why do you have to "reset your monitor" when your game hangs?

I had a similar problem with a powercolor 9600pro....apparently it was endemic in some of those cards...the only workaround I ever discovered was to drop the agp speed from 8x to 4xand then it runs stable as....before i found out though I went and changed the psu thinking it might not be grunty enough, and then the gpu fan/heatsink to a nice copper one thinking over heat...no difference....I suggest trying to drop the speed of agp and see if that works
