| 470806 | 2006-07-14 09:44:00 | Hi all I finally figured out how to the wifes camera to make movies (it's now 3 years old), Sony Cybershot DSC-p8, it comes with imagemixer 1.5 editing program which seems to do everything i could ask, except there is no way of lightening the movies, as they are coming out a little dark, i can do it with photos in fireworks, but really don't have a sausage of an idea on how to lighten movie files Any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers |

| 470807 | 2006-07-14 12:42:00 | its about time you get a handy cam. I dont think the movie will look any good after its being lightend, but you could try. there are several programs such as Ulead Video Studio, Pinnacle, et etc.. download the demo and see if it does the job? |

| 470808 | 2006-07-15 01:07:00 | It's not that i make a lot of movies, it's more the fact the function is there, and i want to get the best out of it, I'll have a look for ulead as i am sure it was on a cover disc round here somewhere Cheers |

| 470810 | 2006-07-15 12:03:00 | Ideally you would want to adjust it on the camera,before recording the video, I would suggest reading the manual if you haven't yet done so. Everytime you re-encode a video file it drops data, a bit like saving a jpeg over and over, it compresses the file each time. And I would assume the camera spits out mov files? (terrible crap to work with) |

| 470813 | 2006-07-17 03:18:00 | Hi all Thanks for the help I have played with the settings to try and get the brightness right before i start filming, but nothing seems to make a difference, (mind you I am shooting inside), I don't have any intention of upgrading to a handycam (unless they drop in price to about $1), it's more a case of sending some videos up North to the family, and recording events, etc i will try out the suggested programs, windows movie maker is XP only isn't it? so i'll put that on the lappy if all else fails Thanks again |

| 470814 | 2006-07-17 03:25:00 | Try turning on all the lights in the room you can, maybe add some more, and even replace the bulbs with stronger 100w bulbs. Also use the setting on your camera for night mode or manually turn up the white balance. | lazydog (148) | ||
