471279 2006-07-16 07:40:00 Hi, I recently downloaded starcraft from battle.net and when I try to connect to the game it says "your internet is not processing UDP packets." Well I'm wondering how to disable the firewall that is keeping my internet form processing UDP packets. Also, I'm using a router if that helps. camor (10739)
471280 2006-07-16 08:13:00 Its most probably the router that needs ports for starcraft added to it.

So, starcraft can connect

471282 2006-07-16 08:21:00 What brand/model is the router??

And what firewall is installed?

The starcraft site may tell u, what the ports are for playing online.

471283 2006-07-16 08:28:00 well, the brand is D-link DI-524

I'm not for sure if there is a firewall installed, I read a very similar post about the same exact problem, with the same game, and the soultion seemed to be disabling a firewall somewhere.

and lastly, the game is a demo download that is old atleast 5-10 years and is hard to find the link, so i dont think the site will give help information do to the fact that the game is really old and it isnt a concern to them but i will stil try.

471285 2006-07-16 08:52:00 I would not have thought it was the height of sensibility to disable a firewall just in order to play a dubious game demo :illogical ?? :waughh:   Terry Porritt (14)
471286 2006-07-16 08:59:00 THX alot speedy for the link From the reading i strongly believe this site will help me with my problem, but it's real late here and i think it would be best to start the port forwarding thing tomorrow.

Thx again :)

first of all please dont flame me. That is why i came here, I have never disabled a firewal and wanted to know if it was "sensible" or not, and that obviously wasn't the problem, thx to speedy. Second of all, it isn't a "dubious game demo" to me i had played it for years before switching to another game and i felt like playing it again. It has been around for atleast 5-10 years and people are still playing it without any updates so it isn't "dubious" to me or any of the other people who play the game. It's sad that you use this site to boost your ego instead of help others.
