471659 2006-07-18 00:21:00 Hi

I have just moved and am getting my internet via telstra cable moved to my new flat, however the PC in a different room from the telstra cable port and running an extension cable isnt an option.

I really need a router but have no experience of using one, does anyone know of any decent places to get them from at a good price, and can you recommend one that will work with the telstra cable broadband internet.

Ive seen the Linksy and netgear ones, i like the look of the netgear one,

i also hope to use wifi on my xbox 360 and psp

thanks any help would be kewl

Sorry you've had no answer so far. There are people here who normally expand about router stuff.

But not me alas, so I'll best help you back to the front page with a

bump.

If you want a wired router (ie. you run ethernet cables everywhere) - I have a bit of a conflict interest because I'm trying to sell one, so I won't comment too much here.

471662 2006-07-22 22:16:00 I have to agree with Sombody, the Linksys WRT54GL is amazing, I also happened to get one the other day, I had never gotten into the router side of things, so I was thinking it would be... 'fun' setting it up, but it wasn't, amazingly easy, and there are so many features :D

Also, it can run off the Telstra Cable.

Ascent have them for $154, I think this is a very good price for a Linksys
