| 472282 | 2006-07-20 08:37:00 | A lot of people recommend VLC player, or there's Zoomplayer that does 'most' files (has nice clean interface, but I think you have to pay extra for version with WMP files capabilities) | Shortcircuit (1666) | ||

Whats DRM got to do with it, my dvd's are all store brought retail packages so I own them, not trying to burn them just want to watch... and the the other things media player refuses to play are things like clips from youtube etc. |

| 472289 | 2006-07-20 09:28:00 | Ugh. The reason you cant playback DVD's is because you dont have a codec installed for playback of DVD's. No media player will playback DVD's unless it installs the required codec (any dedicated DVD software will do this, it will enable other media players to use the codec), or you source and install a DVD codec from other sources, Or if you use a player that has its own set of codecs that are intergrated into the player rather then looking to whats installed in the OS (VLC is such a media-player) Iwouldn't install the Apple gear, Firstly its not designed for what your after, and its one of the most piss-poor apps around. |

I enable FLV playback on my comp via media player and have a dedicated FLV player on my other rig, Waste of time, All I do now is run em through SUPER and encode em into an AVI/Divx. Only takes a few seconds. |
