| 471816 | 2006-07-18 23:51:00 | Howdy Turned on computer last night. Wouldn't boot. All fans and harddrive were spinning. Restarted computer and it began to beep. A beeeeep that repeated every 2 seconds or so continuously. I suspected a ram problem (I have 2 x 512 DDR ramsticks, one rated at 333 and the other at 400). I tried removing one and restarting, same problem, swapped it for the other, same problem, ie. neither ram stick seems to work :'( Checked on bioscentral which confirmed that a repeating beep is a memory problem (Award BIOS). I do not currently have access to another computer that I can put my ram in to test if it is defective and I certainly don't want to put any new ram in my PC until I know what might have caused 2 ram sticks to fail at the same time. Any ideas what might have caused this to happen? The PC was certainly going fine the night before ;) Cheers Ravage |

| 471817 | 2006-07-19 00:19:00 | Well it could be a sign of ya motherboard dying... (or maybe the power supply is faulty). Anyway, until you check the RAM in another system with something like Memtest then you can't conclude they are bad. | gibler (49) | ||

I would like to think I put them in right at least once ;) I should be able to borrow my sisters PC tonight so I can try the keyboard as well as the ram in her PC to get a more definative answer. cheers Ravage |
