| 472293 | 2006-07-20 09:58:00 | www.videolan.org/vlc download and install the program now, once installed, open the program. Click Settings / Preferences Click on "Input / Codecs". On the right hand menu, scroll do "Default Devices". Change what ever is in the box to the letter of your optical drive. E.G J: Now, click on save on the bottom left corner of the Window. OK, now youve set up VLC to select your optical drive for playing DVD's and audio CD's. Now to run a DVD, on the main VLC window look on the left for a triangle pointing upwards with a line below it. Click it. This will op the "Open" menu, Click on "Disc" at the top. Leave the button set to "DVD(Menus)" for the menu screen. Verify that the device name is set to the Letter of your optical drive e.g J: Click on "OK" Your DVD should run, so you better catch it! |

| 472294 | 2006-07-20 10:06:00 | an option is StormCodec, writen by some Chinese, has most of the current popular codec's integrated, one player plays most formats. [edit: direct link to executable removed] [edit: A new member whose first post is to an executable hosted on a website in a foreign language with no other details about that file tends to be regarded suspiciously. I've removed your link - Jen (Moderator)] |

[edit]But thats what VLC and Media Player Classic do... That and the fact that your a first time poster as well as linking directly to an executable from a site many of us have never heard of .... well it's just a little well suspicious... :xmouth: |
