| 471792 | 2006-07-18 22:43:00 | Hey everyone, This is a strange problem, and I'm not sure what to do now . On Monday, I noticed I couldn't sign into my Windows Live Messenger on my laptop . I checked my partner's laptop and I can sign on there . So I uninstalled the programme on my laptop, and after reinstalling, it worked . But yesterday I couldnt sign in again, grrr! So I tried reinstalling it, to no avail . My partner tried to sign in on my laptop, with HIS email and password, and it works . So we defragged some of the hard drive, changed my password, reinstalled it again, and it worked last night . But now today it's not working again . It seems that the issue is with my email address/password on this laptop, because other ppl's accounts work fine on this laptop, and I can sign in on my partner's laptop . When I say "not working" I mean by it takes AGES trying to sign in, normally I get signed in within 15-20seconds . Sometimes, strangely, if I cancel the first sign in (that is taking ages), and try signing in again, it will work . Sometimes not . . . ???? And when I am signed in, it says at the top of the window "Due to an connection problem, changes you make might not be applied to other computers you use" What shall I try next? Using WinXP Home, Windows Live Messenger ver . 8 . 0 (build 8 . 0 . 0792 . 00) thanks, caffy |

| 471795 | 2006-07-19 05:03:00 | I have been having no end of trouble these last few days trying to log in to win live mess as well. ive had to resort to trillian a few times as well, frustrating to the max, takes forever to load..... and then sometimes it wont at all. beetle :rolleyes: |

| 471798 | 2006-07-21 04:34:00 | yes I was aware of that, but I am not getting any error messages at all . Just a continuous attempt at signing in, which does nothing . I can sign in on other computers, and other ppl can sign in on my computer, so something to do with my account on this computer? |

| 471799 | 2006-07-26 03:22:00 | After upgrading from Messenger 7.5 I also had the same "Due to an connection problem, changes you make might not be applied to other computers you use" error displayed in the main window. That's if i managed to sign in at all! Clicking the "Forget Me" link in the main window to delete my sign-in info seemed to do the trick, however. | WckNZ (10768) | ||
