2006-07-22 02:21:00 | Is it possible to have a monitor and LCD TV hooked up to a computer by hooking the lcd tv to a tv tuner card, and the monitor to a graphics card? .......All comments appreciated :D!

2006-07-22 02:26:00 | I must have missed something in the translation, as a TV Tuner card is to allow a TV signal to be displayed on the PC, not output the PC signal to a TV (unless it also has TV out, in which case it would drive the AV inputs). None of my TV cards have AV out (only TV in, AV in). What card do you have that has the capability?

2006-07-22 02:35:00 | If the videocard has video out, I cant see why not. And if the tuner has RCA video in or Svideo (and the LCD has some kind of video out), I cant see why not.

2006-07-22 02:43:00 | WAIT!!!! I have tried this, BUT by connecting the TV to the TV Tuner, I was only able to get the signal from the TV Tuner card. What I mean is if you are thinking of running dual screens, then no, it won't work. BUT if you only want to display what the TV Tuner is seeing (TV signal) then yes, you can provided that TV Tuner card has A/V output as I said in your other thread. What card do you have that has the capability? I have the Hauppauge Win TV PVR-350, and that has a mini-din style output, and comes with a cable that splits it into RCA, Left, Right, Video, and an S-Video outputs

Either way, you could get the tv tuner on it (If it supports something like PIP).. Which is pretty pointless, since its a LCD TV anyway. And connect the VGA from the videocard to the monitor (Is this another monitor, or the same LCD monitor)? Like the LCD I'm using has a DVI connection, and 2 VGA inputs so it says. I dont know exactly what this means. Whether I can connect 2 monitors to both of them and have 3 monitors going at the same time, or what. And the videocard has DVI and VGA (the VGA output isnt being used on the card at the mo). So, could I have 2 LCD monitors connected to the videocard (it comes with a VGA-DVI adapter), and the 2 VGA inputs on the monitor itself? In which case, I could connect 4 monitors to this system? |
