| 472885 | 2006-07-23 02:36:00 | Ever since I swapped the usb cable for a serial cable (usb cable was too short) I have problems with my printer being offline when I boot up. I am using Win XP service pack 2 and have deleted and reinstalled the printer a number of times without a problem, but after a reboot, it is offlien and needs to be reinstalled. Any ideas? | bpt2 (6653) | ||

I suspect something similar is happening with your printer, it is not being detected as being there and so the port lists it as AWOL. Since the printer has Serial (RS232) it suggests that it may be quite old relative to XP, that portion of the driver may not be well supported by XP? |
