472606 2006-07-21 10:57:00 Hello,

After reinstalling windows on my 3 year old entry level Dell I found my beloved & heavily used Winfast TV receiver would not wok correctly in full screen mode, nor would windows media player.

Basically the picture just jumps along with no fluidity (updating every second to second in a half with a half second movement.

I reinstalled windows to put in a new hard drive, but the problems persisted when I tried reinstalling windows on the old drive.

I have noticed that in the device manager it says that the video controller (VGA compatible) has no drivers. I dont know what that means or if it is relevant.

Also I thought doing a windows update would help (as the old PC had them) but alas the windows site gives a message saying it cant do it. There is nothing illegimate about the windows I am using (XP) so I am confused.

If I cant fix it tonite I will miss the B grade movies that play from midnight on trianlge television - ARRGGH!!

Can anyone assist?

It worked great before I put that hard drive in & did windows again!!

472608 2006-07-21 11:21:00 Install the videocard drivers. If its a Nvidia card get the drivers from the

Nvidia site (http://www.nvidia.com)

Or if its an ATI videocard, go to the ATI site (http://www.ati.com)

If you have the Deluxe tuner, get the updated program/drivers from here (www.leadtek.com.tw)

Or the Expert updates here (www.leadtek.com.tw)

Remember to install the drivers first, before u install the PVR program. If you have the Deluxe or Expert Tuner.

472609 2006-07-21 11:45:00 The graphics are intel integrate "extreme" graphics. There is no graphics card & I dont know if this problem is caused by it!!! RusEvo (3572)
472610 2006-07-21 11:48:00 Well go to the intel site and get the drivers for it. Speedy Gonzales (78)
