| 473569 | 2006-07-26 02:11:00 | Hey guys, I am sending out some postcards but for the written portion, I am going to type it up and then paste it to the postcard because when i write small my handwriting is unreadable.. So I need to have some template of microsoft word so that I can type up the written portions and print out just the written portions for the postcard.. I am going to be sending out around 20-40 postcards, so I would like to get 4 written portions per page..unless I could fit more on a page without making it difficult to cut them out. Thanks for any help. bigmit |

Have thin borders around the table and cells to make it easier to cut them straight. Save the file as a template and Bob's your uncle. :) | FoxyMX (5) | ||

Have thin borders around the table and cells to make it easier to cut them straight. Save the file as a template and Bob's your uncle. :) Ok, so I made 4 tables with size required. Is it supposed to look bigger than it actually is? I went to print preview made it a 100% and then matched the size of my postcard with the tables on screen, and the tables are definetly bigger in both directions. I went to table properties and I made the row 4 inches and the column 3 inches. My postcard is 4 inches top to bottom and 3 inches left to right. Not sure if I match the measurements right. 2) How do I make a space between the tables. After I was done with the first table, I copied it. But then when I hit space the cursor goes right under it. I am trying to make another table, an inch to the right of the first table. I hope I am clear. And thank you sooo much for your help. |

If you are specifying the sizes of the tables in inches then you should be right. I would print out a dummy run just to be sure though. To make a space between the tables you can set a tab stop a little way along and use the tab key or you could insert a row/column between each table so that it is actually one big table, not two (or four). You then adjust this "spacer" row/column to the width/height you require. Another way is to set your page layout to landscape and use columns (Format|Columns) but that may be a little more fiddly than using one big table or tabs. Hope that makes sense, I'm not very good at explaining things. |

| 473573 | 2006-07-26 10:06:00 | I did the one table and divide it up way....somehow I managed to figure out how to divide up and add tables within a table. I want to save this file as a template...so that I can always load up the template when I have to deal with postcards. How exactly do I save this as a template? Thanks a lot for your help. |
