The problem is that the laptop will not run of the battery, it will only work if it's running off AC power from the wall socket. Added to this this battery takes ages to charge... 24 to 36 hours and that's when the battery's on a 85% charge. I'm not sure what the fix will be... 1) Do I get a new battery 2) Is there something else wrong in terms of battery connections internally to the laptop. 3) Something else I didn't think of is happening. The laptop is outside it's warranty period so that option is obviously null and void. Anyone have ideas or suggestions. cheers chiefnz |

If after that it won't run the computer, that indicates that it has changed from being a rechargable battery to a paperweight. The normal thing to try with such batteries is to calibrate the monitor chip, by discharging fully, then charging it up again. But if you can't run the computer off it, that can't be done. |

I'm inclined to buy the same battery, but is there any sort of generic battery that I can buy (which is hopefullu cheaper) but still provides decent power. Your thoughts appreciated. Cheers chiefnz |
