| 1405372 | 2015-07-25 05:39:00 | Hi All W8.1, Asus laptop. Down at the bottom left on the taskbar (?) is a white square, inside of which are 4 small white squares. Something has changed. When I clicked on this It should changes screens to the W8 Apps screen with the shutdown in the top right corner. This doesn't happen now. What have I done? Thanks. PJ. |

If it does restart as sometimes explorer.exe gets all in a twist. Does it still work if you right click the Start Button, you should get a Menu pop up. Sometimes third party start menus Eg Classic Shell, if installed will cause problems. Some updates may have gone in and caused damage. |

| 1405376 | 2015-07-25 07:15:00 | Suggest you rip out classic Shell.:2cents: The start button as you described is spot on :) To uninstall Classic Shell- RIGHT click the start button, you should get the following menu, Select Control panel. 6611 Go to Programs and Features, find classic shell, uninstall it. If it doesn't prompt to reboot ( it should) Then right click the start button - Restart. 6612 Should fix the problem unless theres something else causing it. |
