1394465 2015-02-16 04:44:00 Three of us chatting, discovered how efficient the post office is.

I wanted to send some perfume back to America, got a flat refusal from them, mate has a fire arms business, used to send thousand of dollars worth of kit, then out of the blue we don't send firearms.
Other chap wanted some arrow shafts from America, via NZ post off, these shafts have no relationship to weapons, in as much at this stage they were just pieces of aluminium pipe, they refuse to handle these because they were weapons, anyway after days of shenanigans he got them to send.

That was a chance encounter, how business have these clowns let go.
Latest they want to have a 3 day delivery week.

Great management, top man probably on 350K.

1394467 2015-02-16 04:56:00 Post Office policy faced with dwindling revenue is to cut the service and raise the prices. That should work just fine, look how happy the same tactics have made the Super City ratepayers. The best part is that nobody has copyrighted the super save-the-post-office tactics, so they can apply it with vigour. Telecom are not the only P&T offshoot to adopt the ostrich defense, but the Post Office will have to adopt a more comprehensive "ignore the customers, but sock it to them" technique to match their former work(???)mates. 1394469 2015-02-16 18:00:00 I recently discovered letter stamps are now 80c.....as you see, haven't sent one in ages...
Sent a packet to my mum the other day - Pass the Parcel $4.95.
They come here and pick it up, take it to her and drop it off.
No going anywhere even...and $5 for quite a lot of stuff.

These guys saw the opportunities from Trademe (lots of parcels) and jumped in. I use them all the time (not just Trademe).

On the other hand, going down to NZPost, buy packet, fill packet, stand in queue to have packet weighed and measured etc...pay enormous price....just why?

1394470 2015-02-16 19:59:00 I use Pass The Parcel too, saves so much hassle. NZ Post missed the boat when TM exploded over a decade ago. Their delivery times are so slow now it's not funny. Renegade (16270)

So you will agree, management overpaid.

They couldn't do worse if they tried.

I always use NZ Post, tried Pass the Parcel once and never again.

They totally stuffed up so I had to send via NZ Post anyway. Contacted Pass the Parcel, they agreed they'd stuffed up and said they'd refund me. Refund never came. Didn't bother chasing them up yet again over the small amount it was - had had enough of that - just never sending anything with them again.

So maybe NZ Post costs a bit more, but I'm personally glad they're still around, because I've found them far better than Pass the Parcel.

Interestingly, this seems to be the same strategy that SkyTV are using

Why?
They are a division of Post Haste.....not hard to follow up.
