| 1394966 | 2015-02-27 19:58:00 | Honestly I don't know. Armed conflicts which is the words we use for war these days, seem to always get bogged down and seldom achieves peace. On the other hand do we turn away and rise above other human suffering only because it is unknown people in a distant land. The Jordanian pilot being burned to death is a compelling image - we don't have to see it to imagine it. Similarly the beheading by sawing with a knife. Nothing clean and merciful about that. Should a boy from Kentucky or Manchester or Darwin die trying to stop such tragedies? I suspect Yes but if was my son...I really do not know. I would be proud if my kids wanted to join with the Kurds and kill some ISIS or help out the Palestinians under jew occupation in the West Bank. But they would rather play computer games. |
