He won't of course, that would take principals and ethics, concepts completely alien to the Dear Leader. Once the twisty wee freak-show loses public confidence It'll be Heigh ho, off to Hawaii we go. Not soon enough in my opinion. You will beside yourself if he gets elected for another term I am picking. |

| 1395211 | 2015-03-02 18:13:00 | you pay peanuts you get monkeys . If you think a successful business person is going to go into politics to earn lots of money you are deluded . $150K is nothing . . . . Pay more peanuts, get more monkeys? Given nothing is a variable, perhaps "they" could be paid a somewhat more thrifty nothing? Also, there could be considerably less of "them" to advantage . If their achievements mirror their efforts, perhaps a huge reduction in MP's hours could favourably influence our general quality of life? Less MPs, at lower rates doing less hours . The cost savings would be tiny compared with the other cumulative benefits to the nation . |

Being available 24/7, working 80 hour weeks for $80K. Good luck with your elected rep the only thing I would change is have a dual tier system of paying electorate MPs more than List MPs. Well the way I see it most of them wouldnt get a job in the private sector and paying anyone $150k plus to achieve nothing is ridiculous. Which brings us back to my original question. Maybe you would be good enough to give us a résumé of what these MPs, any of them, have achieved for the $25,519,180 they have cost us in wages alone? |

| 1395213 | 2015-03-02 19:29:00 | if you want to attract even more no-hopers into parliament pay them less. Yes i'm quite sure most of the ex union hacks on the left, being in Parliament will be the highest they have ever earned, and the most they will ever earn | nmercer (3899) | ||
