1394946 2015-02-25 04:45:00 We dont have to win a war fighting ISIL, we cant exterminate every possie or stoat in NZ but we can keep the numbers down. Same with ISIL keep killing them, good target practice no one can ever have enough target practice. Treat them like duck shooting, you dont kill every duck there will be none next year. Killing ISIL people must be more fun than running around in the tussock at Waiberia playing soldiers. Never let a chance go by to use live targets. prefect (6291)
1394947 2015-02-25 04:57:00 Seems everyone except prefect is forgetting that someone has to do something about them. I'm sure it's easy to ignore cos we live on a little island in the middle of nowhere but if they aren't controlled they will eventually find their way here so what's wrong with sending people (who signed up as soldiers pressumably to act as soldiers do) into the nest and thinning the numbers out. If the whole of the civilized world thought the same way as the majority here do then we would of died off a loooong long time ago because we waited for 'someone else' to fight for us.

NZ Soldiers seem to be well respected around the world, maybe because they are well trained, but I think moreso because they represent a tiny nation who appear to give a **** about the world they live so distantly from. That makes me proud to be kiwi!

And although the majority here despise Key/National I suggest you do some research into just where NZ sat financially prior to National government. I don't like him or trust him but he is digging us out of a hole.

1394948 2015-02-25 05:16:00 Who is "John KeyE" anyway?

He is the doppelganger of John Keys, the two of them take all the risks and cop all the flack while John Key swans around spouting platitudes and occasionally stamping his foot.

Cheers

1394950 2015-02-25 07:41:00 Ex Prefect..........If you don't like the New Zealand PM I suggest you return to poverty rock. I am sure the Englander politicians are more in tune with your political ideals.

The rock that gave him everything he is today, obviously some French and German in there, the obnoxious bits.

Not you lol, but the commie Englander.

Well let’s get a couple of things straight Hueybot.

I for one am already on record of believing that something has to be done about these idiots, and I am old enough to know that 70 odd years ago we had a similar problem. History is only repeating itself and the fix needs to be the same.

You see back then we had a nation of suicide bombers who thought beheading people was the way to take over the world. Unfortunately for them their opposition sorted the matter with two big “bangs”, one in Hiroshima and one in Nagasaki and they’ve been on there best behaviour ever since. ;)

History has taught us this is the only way to quickly and expediently resolve such a matter.

As for John Key digging us out of a hole, dare I suggest it is quite the opposite? I think you have been sucked in by the spin doctors. Here is what you need to look at, this is Key’s handiwork.

Why.
Why must the Western World's way be forced on everyone else. Can we not accept that perhaps in some regions it take a nasty dictator/regime to
actually keep the peace & may the region safe. eg Iraq before we messed it up for them
Perhaps if we (the free world) kept out of it, we wouldnt be making more enemies hell bent on revenge .Its a civil war, its going to be a messy process that we can only prolong
& make worse.

Lets see, whats worked before with our attempts to put in our type of governance
Vietman: fail , made things worse
Iran :fail, made things worse
Iraq : fail, made things worse
Somalia :fail, made things worse
etc etc

We all know how well our way of doing things is better than sharia law .
We dont have rampant crime, drug & booze related issues, crims getting off scott free or released in a few years to re-offend. Yep, our way is definitely better...oh..wait...but
:illogical

I don't know where you stand politically but I agree with the above to an extent. I don't think killing millions of innocents would really solve anything though...

I don't think you have portrayed a very accurate representation with your attachment. An account balance selected at any random quarter doesn't say bugger all for cashflow, unpaid dividends (although I will admit I'm not sure how these are handled in a gov account balance) or general economy growth.

I guess if your idea of peaceful is an oppressed people to scared for their lives to stand against a dictator then you are right. Maybe it does work better as you said but I believe every living soul on this planet deserves the same opportunities as we are lucky to have in NZ so if our soliders can help in any way to make that happen then they have my support. I'm not for fighting wars that aren't our to fight but standing up for the defenseless is fine with me.
