| 1394354 | 2015-02-14 20:41:00 | 6225 If anybody's interested, here's where Melbourne's reference point is. Semantics really, if you consider we're talking about a runway width of 60m, the wingspan of an Airbus 380 is 80m, and one certainly walks more than 154m along the fingers ... So to all intents and purposes, let's just agree both airports are at the same latitude  |

However, Tauranga seems to be infinitely variable depending whether you are using Apple Maps or not. ;) As an aside, it might be just as well Melbourne have got theirs right because here is a shot showing Tullamarine (the second busiest airport in Aus) in the top left-hand corner and Essendon Airport in the bottom right-hand corner. 6227 Dont think Air Traffic Control would appreciate a little Cessna checking out Tullamarine whilst the pilot worked out which was which. |

| 1394357 | 2015-02-15 20:54:00 | I was expecting them to be close, but exact to four decimal places strikes me as odd. Its because they were built by aliens. No Govt run blding process could do that harmonic 33 , the evidence is out there. If we dont know how or why some large structure was build in the past, then its allways aliens . :banana |

| 1394358 | 2015-02-16 05:21:00 | Don’t think Air Traffic Control would appreciate a little Cessna checking out Tullamarine whilst the pilot worked out which was which. At least prior to the official opening of Tullamarine while Ansett and TAA were still bidding for pole position in the half hourly race from Essenden to Sydney, ATC were muchly laid back. I flew a 4 seater single engine Cessna from Moorabbin (the general aviation airport SE of the CBD) to land at Tullamarine. The highlight of this trip was my being marshalled into the parking spot at Tullamarine by some character waving bats at me. You could safely label that as overkill. Probably alleviated the boredom for him ... :D |
