474703 2006-07-30 04:36:00 Hello all,
my LCD screen on my Packard Bell Easy Note M7 - 306EDR has gone blank .

Well, not totaly blank, if I look close enough I can still see the LC displayed just with no back light .

Have connected an ext moniter in the mean time, but it's a bit ridiculous dragging that around everytime I want to use my note book .

Have also tried all the diff fn keys - no go bro!

So it seems that it is either the inverter or the backlight .

If this is the case does anyone know how I can test to see which one is faulty?

or does anyone know which is the most common part that goes on this model - relating to the inverter/backlight .

Or maybe direct me to a helpful website?

Oh yea and warrenty has run out suprise! suprise!

Look forward to your response

474704 2006-07-30 04:40:00 I find with one of my laptops that I can get the screen visible again by working the screen back and forth (gently). So it's probably my inverter. I've had it apart a few times finding no obvious cause. I assume it's to do with the way the cable is flexed as the screen is moved to viewing position. Graham L (2)
474705 2006-07-30 04:53:00 Hey that was a rather speedy response there Graham.

Just like you I have tried the to & fro movements still to no avail.

I have also reset all the connections to the inverter & backlight and also looked for any visual faults.

Still no success.

474706 2006-07-30 05:12:00 I guess the power connection between your LCD and the main part is faulty (data connection still working). Maybe you need to send it to service place. developer (4447)
