| 474548 | 2006-07-29 08:12:00 | I just got the August edition of PC World and I see that IE7beta3 is on the cover disk and it will now install on Win2K. However when I run up the exe file I get this error. "Setup could not verify the integraty of the files needed for this installation. Make sure that Cryptographic service is running on this computer" ???? Anyone else installed this?? |

As it says on the MS site: Internet Explorer 7 Beta 3 will run on Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2), Windows XP Professional x64 Edition, and Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). |

Anyone else installed this??The other question you might want to ask yourself (aside from the fact that this browser doesn't appear to be compatible with W2K) is "Do I really want to install this?". I downloaded and installed Beta 2 - it's "OK", but a bit buggy, and doesn't seem to like playing with the version of Google toolbar I had installed on IE6. I have run into issues with installing the new Beta 3 version due to a registry clean I ran, which took out some files needed to uninstall the damn thing! (Beta 2 needs to be uninstalled before you can install Beta 3). So I've given up on IE (and Firefox) and gone to Opera. Great little browser! I understand that M$ will be pushing out IE7 via Windows Update later this year - you might want to wait for the final (supported) product. If you're really keen to try tabbed browsing before then, you could do a lot worse than trying Opera - or Firefox... You might be pleasantly surprised! |

I guess whoever put together the PCWorld CD was telling "porkys" Personally I use Opera 9 with Firefox Beta 2 as a back up |

| 474554 | 2006-07-31 04:03:00 | Ok. I went to install this on a WinXP machine at work with IE7 beta 2 installed. I would not install over top of it. It said to go to add and remove programs and uninstall first. Did that but it still says it's still installed. Any ideas?? TIA.. |
