475073 2006-08-01 05:14:00 I never seem to find a use for all that hdd space. I have about 200gb, and use about 20 :( mejobloggs (264)
475074 2006-08-01 05:14:00 It also depends on how much you would like to spend, what sort of games
you play the most, whether you are Intel or AMD fan, nVidia or ATI fan,
whether you are willing to pay more for top brands, etc.

475075 2006-08-01 05:20:00 It is not only the size matters, different models have different number of discs,
size of cache, RPM, data transferring (PATA / SATA), reading / writing speeds
etc.

It's really only video/movie files that gobble lots of disk space. Or MP3s if you are a muso, but you need a lot of those. Mind you, I expect those games that have started coming out on DVD will also be pretty greedy once you start installing a few of them.

80Gb is now the smallest. 750Gb the biggest so far. Its why I usually say around 200 or 250, mid-range nowdays.
I have a 120Gb which is only 1/3 full, but then I don't download movies or MP3s or anything like that.....some peole seem to store their lifetime collections on their PC.

I don't download movies nor music but the three hard drives in this machine (80GB x 2 and 160GB) are all two-thirds full thanks to the home movie captures and (shhhh!!) my own collection of ripped CDs. Oh! And my several thousand photos. :p

If it weren't for the movies and music I could probably easily get away with one 80GB drive and still have plenty of room to spare.

475080 2006-08-01 11:08:00 I have a 80GB HDD, currently its about a third full, contents...

Two gigs of Thief Missions...
13 hours of music
A couple of hours of videos
A gig of pictures... say several hundred...

Still havent managed to use it all up since I constantly archive and backup files I hardly use.
