474947 2006-07-31 03:25:00 I wish to make an audio recording and then burn it to a CD.

I know how to burn a CD ;)

What I do not know to do is make the recording.

I need to learn word perfect an article for a public performance, so I will record it on a CD and play it in the car on the way to and from work.

I have a headphone with mike. My PC has XP with media player 10, and a good sound card as I play online games with vox.

Can someone, pretty please, give me an idiot's guide to recording with the format etc so I can play it back in the car?

Thank you in advance - in fact 10,000 of them.

474948 2006-07-31 03:29:00 Use Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/) , record from a mike to the source (choice of one or two channels) and then save the .wav as an MP3...put it into a folder you can then find and send it to the drive of your choice to burn as an MP3. SurferJoe46 (51)

Hi Lynz
Just be sure beforehand that your car radio can play MP3. Many cannot. If not then burn as WAV.
