474809 2006-07-30 12:20:00 I'm trying to run a USB printer on an older computer with Win 98SE OS. Listed ports available for the printer don't include USB (only com1,com2 & lpt appear in the dialogue box) Can anyone tell me how to install this port please? A card with 2 USB ports is fitted and this appears to work ok as I'm using one of them with a flash key.
Cheers
George

What is the make / model of the printer you are trying to install?

Thanks

474812 2006-07-30 23:14:00 Did you follow the install procedure of firstly installing the Win98/ME drivers from the Canon CD, and then power up the printer and connect the USB cable? Terry Porritt (14)

Yes, this is essential. You MUST follow the correct procedure or it won't work.

474815 2006-07-31 22:52:00 Thanks Guys. Turns out printer was in fact an old S330 (not S300). Installing the correct driver & following instructions now all OK
