475290 2006-08-02 00:48:00 My computer has started giving out "beeps" every now and again. There doesn't seem to be anything wrong and no problems booting and running. On odd occasions it gives out three quick beeps and mor often just a single one.

475291 2006-08-02 02:33:00 A few things come to mind. Voltage, fan stops/slowdowns or overheating warnings. Can you check the temps for starters? Do the fans all spin OK with no loud bearing noises?

Anything in the hardware line changed recently?

475296 2006-08-02 04:48:00 Temp is about same as always. In high 30'sExactly the same or have they gone up a degree or two? At a wild guess it could be a warning/notification that a certain temperature has been reached. Have a look and see if you have a motherboard utility program or something that might be doing this. 475298 2006-08-02 09:17:00 Its not one of these mobos that beep with every USB device thats plugged in is it?

Like this one here, until ASUS fixed it with a BIOS update.

475299 2006-08-02 09:45:00 I just fixed a similar fault on a Gigabyte MB by swapping the power supply out because it had become unstable. Specifically the -5v would fluctuate between -4.7 and -5.6 according to the bios readings. Several other voltages were also fluctuating marginaly but the system was still working. I had read an article regarding a PS which did not supply -5v and it caused a continual low power alarm on this type of MB so I tried it out and it worked. Worth a try.
