475779 2006-08-03 07:16:00 I have a Konica Minolta Page Pro Laser Printer.

I am using a refilled cartridge which has been fine for 3 or 4 months but now an annoying popup message has appeared telling me I am using a refilled cartridge and to replace it. I believe the printer has also slowed because it stops and makes a whirring sound between each page print instead of printing continuously.

Does anyone know how to remove this annoying pop up?

475781 2006-08-03 09:52:00 if you go into gpedit ie start> run> gpedit then click on the start-up tab in the console and look for the entry for your printer (I think it may be something like 'minstp'). From memory it will give you a description of what the entry does... like: 'loads minolta printer at start-up' and if you click on the entry it will give you an option to enable/disable. Be aware that options can be confusing in gpedit, the option may be to disable the disabling of start-up if you get my drift.

this worked to stop the annoying pop-up screen for my Minolta 2400 laser when 1st starting XP that only serves to tell you that the printer is warming up etc.

you may find that your printer won't want to work after you shut down/reboot Windows, but just unplug printer and plug in again, Windows will reinstall printer without the pop-up screen.

Sorry- this is not too exact as it's a while since I did it in XP. trial and error and you should figure it out... or don't buy cheap refills :D

I just thought, with my 2400 laser there were pop-up options in the main menu... a list of actions that that you could add or delete, for instance 'display warning when toner is low'. If your printer has this option it may be a quick solution.
