476226 2006-08-05 07:10:00 Hello All

I got an Acer Aspire 3002 WLMi laptop with an Hour battery in it.

Now I am wondering you can get longer lasting battery for them i.e. a 2 – 3 hour battery???

Or if you can get another Hour battery??

Thanks in advise :)

476227 2006-08-05 07:29:00 You can... BUT... It's quite expensive. I have the same laptop as you do, and the battery is hopeless (less than 1 hr in mine). I can't seem to find the email I sent enquiring about a higher-capacity battery (2-3hr), but it was around the $180 mark.

Just out of curiosity, is your CPU fan also very noisy?

How old is your laptop? (Mine is just on a year old last month) & I can get up to an hour.

Depends on how you define “noisy”??

Thank for those links somebody :)

476231 2006-08-06 21:04:00 I bought it in April last year - get about 45mins battery life at best.

CPU Fan: Under normal operating conditions while it's spinning, it's noticable over anything I have playing out the speakers. Under more strenuous conditions (multitasking, CPU intensive work), the fan kicks into overdrive, and that's incredibly loud. If I could post an accurate audio clip somewhere I would.

I enquired about getting a replacement CPU fan: $125 from one store, and $85+GST from another. Horribly expensive for what it is, and more importantly, I was told that it would make no difference as it was a design issue and the new fan would only be slightly quieter.

If you zip up the audio clip you can upload it to ImageF1 - http://www.imagef1.net.nz

If I had a way to recorded my laptop fan noise then I would also put up it for you.
