476566 2006-08-06 12:37:00 I com back home after work and after having a go at 'repairing' my radio, I try to turn of my computer which oddly enough will not bootup.

Only thing I've noticed is that when I press the power button the power light goes on and thats it. No fans starting up, to hdd activity. Just absolute horrible silence...

I can hold down the power button for 5 secs to turn off the light, but thats it.

Mobo is gigabyte GA-7N400 pro2
Athlon XP 2500
Hyena Power supply (Yes I know... yada yada yada)

I'd work on it tomorrow but I'm working, so anyone whats the prognosis?

I'm betting its the power supply, else the mobo.

The only thing different that I did this morning was remove the power plug for my surge protector and disconnect my network plug, since I'm a little overboard when it rains.

I'll do the full diagnostic once I get back from work tomorrow night but wouldnt mind ideas on as to what it is while I'm at work.

476574 2006-08-07 05:27:00 I'll take a bet each way... power supply could have fried the MB

Do what I did after the last meltdown... replace the power supply and MB, oh and maybe the ram and get a new vid card (you can keep the case... they never wear out and beige is always in style.... or so I'm told) :D

476575 2006-08-07 06:07:00 Realistically could be either, blown or low rails on the PSU, or blown board. Maybe because of the brand of PSU, I would lean PSU. Battleneter (60)
