476451 2006-08-09 06:20:00 But webbase . co . nz is a Christchurch company . All their servers are located in Auckland?

As far as I am aware yes there servers are in Auckland & a member of there staff is also a member on here as well :)

Do you mean it really doesn't matter for the physical location of a hosting company because they should have servers in each large cities?

Yep, that’s correct, some what :), but don’t forget not all NZ Hosting companies have servers here in NZ, a lot of them have servers in the US & other country’s

Probabaly iserve . co . nz also have server in Auckland?

I think they may, but I am not 100% sure sorry :(

Hope this helps :)

476452 2006-08-09 22:44:00 I just contacted with iserve. All their servers are in Wellington. I don't know if it is ok for me to stay with iserve, even when i have my own server later. The only problem is when i need load something locally. Is that right? It is still better to use US server. shanelinnz (10917)

Sorry but I am unsure what you mean by this? :o

Any how just use locally if your company targets people in New Zealand (as the load speed will be better)

I Hope this helps some what, but if you clarify your questions a bit more, I will be happy to give you a better answer :)

476454 2006-08-10 01:00:00 It matters bugger all where the server is hosted, as long as you have good email access to tech support. Greg (193)

They are quite expensive. 20MB isn't much diskspace, you should be able to get at least 50MB for that price. Also their billing period is 28 days, not calender month, so you are paying an extra month each year. Their network however may be better and faster and more reliable than most other hosts

476456 2006-09-01 13:21:00 $20 for 20MB it’s too bad for NZ Based web hosting.

For the last few days I have been looking at prices for NZ based web hosting.

Anyway for a simple 3 - 4 page website & a few images 20meg will do it fine.
