| 476469 | 2006-08-06 09:41:00 | "My documents" doesnt fit on a dvd so do i zip it or what? So split it. Your My Documents )if organised properly) should contain sub-folders. If not then make some. Like Invoices. Letters. Pictures. Music. Then sub0sub-folders: Rock Music, Classical Music. Etc. whatever way you want. Think of it as a filing cabinet. Then when you write it to a DVD, select several of the folders first, enough for one DVD, write that one. Then select the next lot of folders for DVD number 2 etc. Or buy an external Hard drive (USB). |

| 476470 | 2006-08-06 14:36:00 | There are a number of free backup utilities to help with regular backups. Just Google "freeware backup tools", see what turns up. Microsoft have recently released one called Synctoy. Check it out on the Microsoft website. Any good backup program should allow a level of compression so this will help in your application. Whilst not free, I personally use the Nero tool, BackItUp. Hope this helps |
