This could be for many different reasons. The fact the computer shuts down before the OS gets a chance to load suggests a hardware fault. An operating system fault should blue screen or just hang. The computer actually powers off and it is just not the monitor turning off?
I would check for overheating problems and make sure all the motherboard fans are working for starters. Then I would see about testing the power supply unit by swapping it with another one. Another thing you could try is using a Linux LiveCD and see if that boots up OK which could suggest hard drive or OS faults. |
