| 477277 | 2006-08-09 22:58:00 | Would sky tv interfear with the ethernet side of it no Didnt think so but thought i'd ask to confirm. The weird thing is that the other computer in the house wont connect through the ethernet port either. And thats through either modem. Just going OT here for a bit. When i try to get into the bios it asks for a password. The people that own the computer didnt realise it needed one. Is there anyway to bypass it. Motherboard is a ECS (Elitegroup) SIS 651-M. Also, i've downloaded the motherboard drivers for the sound and agp but when i try to update them they arent reconised. Tried updating through the Device manager and Add new hardware but when it comes to pick location and i click on the drivers i've downloaded the "OK" box is greyed out and wont reconise them. Any ideas?...... |

| 477278 | 2006-08-09 23:13:00 | Just a thought... When I had problems reconnecting to xtra after setting up a wireless access point connected via a switch to a Dlink modem, the problem was finally revealed by an experienced Tech at xtra that my username was case sensitive and I was not using the capitals at the beginning of my username (which doesn't require capitals when logging into the webmail) when entering it into the web access screen of the modem . Easily solved but a bugger to diagnose. |

| 477280 | 2006-08-10 02:24:00 | Back to basics. Get to the command prompt and type ipconfig /all then enter What gets displayed? Next, ping these addresses and let us know the results Ping 10.1.1.1 ping 10.1.1.2 ping 210.48.100.10 ping www.idg.co.nz |

| 477281 | 2006-08-10 02:41:00 | Do you have both cables(USB and ethernet) plugged in or just one? I dont think it has been mentioned above thats why I'm asking. Only need to yse one of them, so if your configuring ethernet make sure the USB is not plugged in. | Rob99 (151) | ||
