well actually your wrong. I calculated it using the apple NZ (store.apple.co.nz) method

477058 2006-08-08 09:33:00 The price in New Zealand is about $5200

Ah the times two pricing (which includes GST and the "New Zealand Premium").
And in this case you have an extra $200 bonus thrown on. To extend the 1 year warranty to 3 years costs you a sweet $520... :yuck:

As an added bonus you get to be Apple's testers for everyone else (never buy version 1.0 of mac hardware)...

Someone is bound to ask for one at work though

I'll take a look when I get home tonight. Of course, a home-built system lacks the software.

OK, I couldn't get the specs quite the same, but the closest I came was $132 less than Apple's price, and that was without a case or any software.

I couldn't even find the cpu on pricespy, but then again I was not 100% sure what I was looking for

I couldn't find it on Pricespy either, but I did find the next model down (the 5140). After clicking through to the cheapest supplier they had the 5150 listed, I'm back at work so I don't have the exact price but I think it was about $1600 (so $3200 total as there are two of them).
