| 477660 | 2006-08-10 23:53:00 | My windows XP computer; Gigabyte GA-8IK1100 motherboard currently has an 80 Gb Seagate IDE hard drive. I want to install an 80 Gb SATA drive as the boot drive. I would like to image from the ide to the sata & then boot from the sata --- is this possible? Right now the computer doesn't recognize the sata drive. any assistance would be appreciated. |

You need to check if the BIOS can see it first though. Yes you can image across to the new one once its all set up. What proram are you using for the Image? I find with Ghost, its better to format the new drive with XP first, then image across. |
