| 477447 | 2006-08-09 21:01:00 | Hi and thanks for reading this Outlook express allows picture as attachments and pictures to be inserted. However many commercial newsletters use images downloaded from the net via a link embedded in the email. For some reason mine stopped loading these and all I get are RED CROSSES where the image is supposed to be. I have tried many things to correct this and also posted a help request here but nobody was able to assist. I suspect that either a DLL file has been corrupted/deleted or a key in the registry pointing to such a DLL has been deleted. To go further for help I really need to know what is the correct term for this type of link and if someone can assist me it would be greatly appreciated. Are they called HOTLINKS, INTERNET LINKS or something else Many thanks for your time Regards Tony |

The sender has sent a link shortcut instead of an image . A red box will appear in an email if the image is not available from the web site that is hosting it . 2 . A referenced image has an incorrect path and points to a non-existent image . 3 . HTML emails with pictures embedded in them will only display if you are online the Internet, because the pictures are downloaded from the web site as you are reading the email . |
