| 478485 | 2006-08-14 11:14:00 | im thinking of buying an external hard drive... just wondering ...would it be cheaper to buy a fully assembled, out of the box external hard drive..........or an internal hard drive assembled into an external hard drive enclosure (by hand)? also are these good ones? supercheappc.biz |

If u have a decent sized internal hdd, it's most probably cheaper buying the external case and putting the hdd in the case yourself. |

| 478488 | 2006-08-15 09:56:00 | Umm... you probably shouldnt need any software for an external USB harddrive. Personally id go for a 2.5' HDD and third party enclosure. They dont need the bulky power packs like the 3.5' equivilant, making them far more portable. Putting it together youself would also mean that you could upgrade it later in life if require, im not sure how upgradable preassembled units are. | Pete O'Neil (6584) | ||

Insert one of these: www.pbtechnz.com Where you buy these items from is over to you. I already had a Seagate drive after replacing motherboard and getting two SATA2 drives. |
