478390 2006-08-14 05:36:00 Hey there,
I've recently purchased a new keyboard and mouse set, the Microsoft Wireless Optical Pro set, that includes an Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 and Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard.

Since I've had them, I've had the problem where, say, in The GIMP (image manipulation program) if I hold down a mouse button to make a selection, and then hold down shift to make it square, if I stop moving the mouse the mouse acts like I let go of the mouse button, but I haven't.

I ran mousinfo and mskey and can confirm that when I press a key on the keyboard while holding down a mouse button (any button) the mouse will drop the button state.

I remember fixing this once before, but I can't fix it now. I've tried reconnecting both of them, unplugging and replugging it in, completely removing the software, but to no avail. I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas?

Thanks,
Daniel McKenzie

I have this system too, I havn't struck your problem I'm sorry,But would suggest look for updated drivers, the current ones are intellimouse 5.5 and intellipoint
5.5 pays to uninstall old drivers before installing new ones.

cheers,

Robby
