| 478758 | 2006-08-15 23:23:00 | I have just bought a new 200G hard drive Samsung SP201 4N and have installed it in an external USB case. :) It is not showing up on My Computer but it does show up on my Safe Removal. :illogical I have followed the trouble shooting that I got with the drive but have had no luck, I have checked the drives and they are up to date. :horrified The only suggestion on the trouble shooting I havent done is format the hard drive I havent done this as I cant find the hard drive. :badpc: Can anyone offer any advice as to what I can do as I am a bit miffed as I was told this was the easiest option as it was simply plug it in and off you go. :help: |

MSC then select your drive in the bottom half of the window at the left, right-click on it, choose Initialize then right-click again and either partition and format it or format it . There is a FAQ on Partitioning a hard drive ( . net . nz/index . php?title=Multiple_partitions_on_a_hard_driv" target="_blank">faqf1 . net . nz e) that may be of some use if you are interested . |
