| 478635 | 2006-08-15 08:11:00 | This is following my previous lamenting on deleting the villain McAfee. It is not available anywhere in the Add/Delete stuff. But some folders & files in them are always present in the C Drive & also in the 'regeidt'. They are virtually impossible to delete! In the regedit I saw, the more I kill the more they are back! These are the messages I get every time despite my best efforts to kill it off my PC: Some 0f McAfee security components might not have been installed or launched properly. Restart your PC to fix this...... Another one:Error Deleting File or Folder Make sure the disk is not full or write protected and that the file is not currently in use. Will it be possible to delete this? Or should I ring the McAfee NZ people. Please advise. Thanks. |

| 478638 | 2006-08-17 16:17:00 | The problem as I see it is that McAfee thinks it is being hacked/damaged and is throwing up a defense...as it's supposed to do. I still recommend trying to kill it via Safe Mode. That way you will still have your utilities running...or callable anyway...and you can perform the exorcism a lot easier that way. :) |
