| 478719 | 2006-08-16 02:36:00 | yea sorry for the confusion guys i have a p4 3.0, my motherboard is old and does not take pci-e, that is why i would like to get a new pc, because by the time i buy a new motherboard and graphics card i might as well get a new cpu to go with it. i have excluded the ram and the case from the price because i already have them. what do you guys think about the x800gt's, compared to the 7600gt? do u think that it is worth it to spend an extra $150 to go from a single core 3500+ to a am2 3800+? all advice and coments welcome Hi bud, FYI, the 7600GT will wipe the floor with the x800GT, NO compition there, & it should be good for high quality up to 1280x1024 as I use a 6600GT with those settings. It depends on the game really. Extra 1Gb of RAM wont go amiss |

| 478720 | 2006-08-16 03:54:00 | hi guys thanks for the help, i have decided to go with a am2 4200 =$420 and a matching mobo, = $180 and a 7600gt (pci-e) = $350 ish. so its a little over my budget but i think it will be best in the long run. thanks for the help, comments still welcome. cheers p.s. ill keep my p4 system for mulitimedia, because of the t.v tuner that i have in it. i will also let my mates use it when they come over to do some gamming. |
