| 478772 | 2006-08-16 00:15:00 | XP Home and Outlook Express. When I close OE I get a box pop up telling me, 'To free up disk space, OE can compact messages. This may take up to a few minutes'. I do not want to take a few minites anywhere so how do I get rid of it please. John |

The messages do need to be compacted but the preferable method is to do the following: In OE go to File > Work offline then File > Folder > Compact all folders. When that is done go to File > Work offline again to reset OE back to online mode. After that OE should not bother you to compact messages again for a while. |
