| 1406494 | 2015-08-15 02:41:00 | 15.08.2015 07:05 ff addons and ff plugins are different stuff. we get more confused when ff chooses to call them extensions instead of as "addons." An extension means a filename extension. It is part of Microsoft Windows. I typed "about:plugins" in ff address bar. Lets glance through the Status: field and the FilePath: field. It seems there isnt presently a way to delete plugins through this interface. I am not sure if we can try deleting each pluginfile referred to, one by one manually. |

| 1406495 | 2015-08-15 05:22:00 | AFAIK, the only way to delete unused plugins, is to delete/uninstall the parent program. Presumably if the plugin is not used, then the program is not used, so delete it. For example if you decided you didn't want to use VLC player any more and you uninstalled it, the VLC plugin would also be uninstalled |

I may not want to delete the program, just delete the plugin alone. Why? The plugin could be slowing down my browsing experience. Example these: I have Foxit Reader Plugin, Spoon plugin, Silverlight plugin. These contain the word "Plugin" in them. Spoon is a plugin, not a installable application. Silverlight too. There are some "Microsoft Office" plugins I already checked out their mime-type is handled correctly in "about:preferences#applications" I dont want to delete the Microsoft Office installation. In the case of Foxit Reader, go to the plugin folder at Program Files\Foxit Software\Foxit Reader\plugins and delete (or rename) npFoxitReaderPlugin.dll This will remove the plugin. It is not needed because Firefox has inbuilt facility to read pdf files. |

| 1406498 | 2015-08-16 02:00:00 | Just adding, if you open the add ons - plugins window in Firefox, and click on the "more" option for the plugin, it will show the dll file belonging to the plugin. Deleting or renaming the dlls will remove the plugin as the example above, all you have to do is find the dll files. |
