1406397 2015-08-12 07:09:00 Hi Guys
Like most of us, I often re-install my Windows after a year or so of use.
This is to get rid of all the bloat and unwanted programs that is added etc

I have Windows 8.1 and am in the process of downloading the Windows 10 install.

How would I be able to re- install Windows 10 in six months time if my machine crashed or I wanted to do a clean out.

Thanks

You can probably do it on another PC at some point in the future if you didn't do it that way now also.

When you reinstall if it asks for a key just use the option to skip that (bottom left I think, from wainuitech in another thread) and it should install ok and activate itself when online. The upgrade is linked to your motherboard hardware and does not need a key.

Someone should sticky this somewhere, it's come up several times already.

By making an image after you have installed it, tweaked it, made sure all is happy.

Then, reimage later to de-bloat. Bugger doing complete installs.....

Got another to do tomorrow, it was upgraded to W10 from 7 and after two days, still runs like a car with four flat types :yuck:

1406401 2015-08-12 22:49:00 Related Question (kind of), If I pre-order the windows 10 retail USB stick for a new build can I install windows 10 off the upgrade media without a key and use it while I wait for my official key to arrive for the new machine? I am contemplating a Skylake upgrade and the version I want is not in stock. Or just talk me out of the upgrade :), really don't need it. dugimodo (138)
1406402 2015-08-12 23:06:00 You could always think about for 3 months while using the Trial version of W10. Of course you would need a fresh install after as you cant change the product key or version ;) wainuitech (129)
