| 1406163 | 2015-08-09 03:21:00 | Having trouble with file sharing between win7 and XP. Both are using MSHome Workgroup. It was working but has stopped after win7 reboot. Win7 can see XP but not the other way around. Network places in XP shows the win7 icon but clicking it shows \\Win7-pc is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions. The network path was not found. There were some folders mapped to drive letters and clicking them shows An error occurred while reconnecting N: to \\Win7-pc\ Microsoft Windows Network : The local device name is already in use. This connection has not been restored. Any help appreciated. |

Since its reliant on netbios name, static ips may not be necessary but I always use static in case DHCP isnt properly setting up due to race conditions. Other than this, probably go through the network wizard again. Cheers, KK |
