Yes and no, it's a real challenge to fly one of those babies to the very limits of the flight envelope. And the crew can probably be assured of appropriate hospitality in any subsequent hangar flying sessions - for years to come. Qantas could have done it on the cheap by simply advertising for crew whose navigational abilities were questionable, landing 747s and other heavy's by mistake at some smaller regional or light aircraft fields in the US. Happens several times a year :groan: |
