| 1395598 | 2015-03-02 21:34:00 | I want a cheapish 32gb Micro SD card for my phone, to store music on, so I don't need a top of the range, really high speed one, but obviously I do want the best one I can get at my price point. Which of these two would people recommend? www.noelleeming.co.nz www.noelleeming.co.nz They're the two I can find for ~$30. |

I buy the cheapest ones I can find for my phones generally, never had a failure yet. Currently have a 32 GB class 4 half filled with music that I think might be a silicon power, had it for ages and forgotten where it came from. For the camera though I stick with decent class 10 cards so they can keep up. |

Not worried about speed; I think even a lower speed one should easily suffice for music playback. Still don't see any point in not getting the best for my $ though! And yea, Ebay wasn't a place I was looking ;) |

You got lucky then, Chinese sellers are notorious for fake\knockoff\seconds memory cards\USB drives. Maybe not so much on eBay now, more Aliexpress etc probably, but I wouldn't risk it. |

| 1395605 | 2015-03-03 02:25:00 | If it's cheap and the seller has a decent amount of positive feedback I'll buy from E-bay, hardly worth it with a genuine brand available locally for $21 though. My SP branded class 4 32GB micro SD is perfectly adequate for music playback, that's all I've used it for. The only advantage of faster cards for this purpose is copying files on and off faster. I have noticed after a work colleague got scammed that some sellers all have the exact same amount off feedback and the same rating, makes me wonder if they are running some sort of auto feedback system or selling a bunch of cheap items to themselves before ripping real customers off. I'd always check how long they've been active as well as the amount of positive/ negative feedback. Now that I think about it I did buy some PCI-E extension cables that never showed up - about $20 worth. My colleague bought some chinese smartphones and was sent cheap USB card readers instead. Ebay did refund his money and ban the seller so there is some protection if you are quick enough (within 30 days or something). I've seen the flash drive with a washer inside it trick as well, they even go to the trouble of having it report a fake capacity so it seems real initially and the washer gives it some weight to make it feel more substantial. |
