1406110 2015-08-08 06:47:00 You have just pointed out why Wi-Fi sense is better

If you're not using Wi-Fi Sense you can do what you've described

If you are using Wi-Fi Sense to share your network, the password is not persisted on the device in the Wi-Fi dialog for it to be obtained. Maybe not, but I just got another persons laptop, and turned on the contacts, I'm in their contacts , managed to jump straight onto the wifi, no password, no prompts nothing and could download what ever I wanted.

Its a stupid insecure addition.

Sorry to hijack this thread BUT
Question: off topic, but is there any reason you are refusing to answer the question posted earlier on asking you directly on the main forum ?

Should be a simple answers for a person with the experience, and working for MS.

It's not insecure

I think I've explained a few times why it is not insecure

You got onto that network shared by your contact, because your contact chose to share out their network .

It is more secure than your contact telling you the password or writing it on a piece of paper .
